Mr. Shivshankar Timmanpyati is a senior Clinical Nutrition professional with extensive experience in clinical and oncology nutrition, nutrition support, patient care, research, education, and professional leadership. He has dedicated a significant part of his professional career to strengthening the role of nutrition in cancer care, with special interests in oncology nutrition, malnutrition, sarcopenia, body composition, enteral and parenteral nutrition, perioperative nutrition, and nutritional rehabilitation.
He has been a lead author and co-author of several oncology-focused nutrition guidelines developed for healthcare practitioners, translating scientific evidence into practical nutrition recommendations suited to the clinical setting, and has authored several books and publications supporting education among dietitians, nutritionists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Throughout his career, he has strongly advocated for evidence-based, ethical, patient-centred and collaborative nutritional care — recognising nutrition not merely as supportive therapy, but as an integral component of comprehensive cancer treatment.
